This type of glass is called ``eggplant-shaped,'' and typical sunglasses include Ray-Ban and American Optical sunglasses. Commonly known as Taresan. This name is said to have come from the oval shape that hangs down from the pad. These sunglasses were worn by General MacArthur of the U.S. Army when he landed at Atsugi Naval Air Station after World War II. Since then, it has become widely known. This type became popular in Japan in the 1970s, and was loved by people such as Yusaku Matsuda. Recently, it has been attracting attention again due to the revival fashion boom.
