[WILEY X SAVER ADVANCED]
I want you to know the cost (price) of the SABER ADVANCED last because I want you to be surprised.
SABER ADVANCED, which is managed and procured by the US Department of Defense under a national equipment number, is military eyewear that uses a half-rim frame with the left and right temples clipped onto the lenses. Its heavy appearance suggests that it has high impact resistance. And the optical performance achieved by advanced functions and optical lens technology exceeds that of conventional military eyewear.

The benefits of the TAKE-FLIGHT™ nose are not limited to the excellent optical performance achieved by adjusting the lens position and inclination angle. In the WILEY X®, the ballistic performance such as the resistance to lens breakage is already ensured with the SELENITE™ lens that is only 2.0mm thick, and it achieves impact resistance that exceeds military specifications. Therefore, the reason why the lens of the SABER ADVANCED is 3.0mm thick is not simply ballistic performance but also the improvement of [lens retention ability by the frame].
The ability of the frame to hold the lens is very important, as it plays a part in the impact resistance of eyewear, but a misconception has been spread due to the so-called "shotgun performance" of eyewear being shot with a shotgun.
For example, if a baseball hits the eyewear while it is being worn, and the lens comes off the frame due to the impact, it will be rated as dangerous, even if it does not break. This is because there is a risk that the detached lens may press against the eyeball together with the ball, or that the edge of the lens may pierce the eyeball. However, if the eyewear is shot with a shotgun, it will be rated as impact resistant if the lens does not break even if it is blown off the frame. It is certainly amazing that a lens does not break when hit by a shotgun, but an "unbroken lens" that rolls on the ground is nothing more and nothing less. It is simply a lens that rolls on the ground, and the evaluation of the impact resistance of the eyewear is that it "could not withstand the impact of a shotgun."
