Every year for the past few years, I've been playing golf with old friends just twice a year.
This year's first event will be held at Berselva Country Club in Tochigi on June 13th.
The recent courses are long because the former back tees have become regular tees. It is not uncommon for shots to exceed 200. It's difficult for amateurs.
So, before the competitions held twice a year, my usual pattern is to practice two or three times.
I have been practicing following that pattern. I think it's been about 10 years, but I went to Katakura's practice range in Omiya's new city center. It's spacious and beautiful. The distance was over 200 yards, so I was able to check the ball's trajectory and get a good idea of the current condition, so it was a good practice.
I'll be 49 years old this year, but has my iron distance increased by about 10 yards? ? ?
After practicing properly, I imagined a round with 18 holes, but I couldn't complete 18 holes! ! (due to 2 hour limit)
Every time I go out on the course, I keep talking to friends I haven't seen in a long time and can't keep track of my score. I thought it was time to start practicing properly because it would be frustrating to think, ``This guy is actually bad at it, isn't he?'' but...
It was the day I vowed to go practice again next week. Chan Chan.
