Despite its lightweight twin-lens, half-rim frame, it has amazing performance that meets the impact resistance standards of military spec/performance specification MIL-PRF-32432. While there are many twin-lens, half-rim frames in the world, such as sports glasses, the WX VALOR is the only one registered with APEL by the U.S. military as combat eyewear MCEP.
WX VALOR uses impact-resistant, high-performance optical lens SELENITE™ 2.5mm. The previous WX VALOR used SELENITE™ 2.0mm, which exceeded military specs and performance specifications, but the lens was changed to a new lens to ensure a "further safety margin" against the oil canning phenomenon, in which the lens deforms concavely during impact. This change resulted in impact resistance far superior to conventional military eyewear.
