【WILEY X SABER ADVANCED 2-Lens Package】

We want you to know the cost (price) of the SABER ADVANCED last because we want you to be surprised. The SABER ADVANCED is a military-grade eyewear managed and procured by the U.S. Department of Defense with a national stock number. It features a half-rim frame where the left and right temples clip onto the lens. Its robust appearance clearly suggests high impact resistance. Furthermore, its optical performance, achieved through advanced functionality and optical lens technology, surpasses conventional military eyewear.

The benefits of the TAKE-FLIGHT™ nose are not limited to the excellent optical performance achieved by adjusting the lens position and tilt angle. WILEY X® ensures ballistic performance, such as lens resistance to breakage, with just a 2.0mm thick SELENITE™ lens, achieving impact resistance that exceeds mil-specs. Therefore, the reason for making the SABER ADVANCED lens 3.0mm thick is not merely for ballistic performance, but to improve [the frame's ability to retain the lens].

The [frame's ability to retain the lens], which plays a part in the impact resistance of eyewear, is extremely important, but a misunderstanding has spread due to "shotgun performance" where eyewear is shot with a shotgun. For example, in baseball, if a baseball directly hits the eyewear while being worn and the lens does not break but comes off the frame due to the impact, it is deemed dangerous. This is because there is a risk of the detached lens pressing against the eyeball with the ball, or the edge of the lens piercing the eyeball. However, if eyewear is shot with a shotgun, even if the lens flies off the frame, it is evaluated as impact-resistant if the lens does not break. While a lens that doesn't break from a shotgun shot is impressive, a "unbroken lens" rolling on the ground is nothing more or less than that. It is simply a lens rolling on the ground, and its evaluation for eyewear impact resistance would be "it could not withstand the impact of a shotgun."
